We put the MBB – McKinsey, Bain, BCG – in their own category, MBB. Each firm has a foundation in core strategy, but now offers many other services as well. And each has a prestige level that is high enough that creates the need for a separate category.

We also have a General Management and Strategy consulting category for top consulting firms. What these firms do is somewhat similar to MBB. In addition, they also tend to have relatively high levels of prestige. These types of firms work on projects focused on setting strategic direction, pricing, organic and M&A growth strategy, sales, and organization.
